Russia Supports the Possibility of an Equitable Agreement Between Iran and the United States

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has voiced his backing for the ongoing initiatives aimed at achieving a balanced and mutually agreeable accord between Iran and the United States. After his discussions with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Lavrov indicated that Moscow is prepared to assist in facilitating a potential nuclear agreement, provided it honors Iran's legitimate interests.

Lavrov underscored that Russia appreciates the readiness of both Tehran and Washington to participate in constructive dialogue focused on reaching an impartial and just agreement. He remarked, “From our observations, there is a distinct intention to arrive at a mutually acceptable arrangement, and we welcome that intention. This encompasses the current discussions between Iran and the United States.”

Reiterating Moscow's enduring commitment to fostering diplomatic solutions in the region, Lavrov confirmed Russia's willingness to support and streamline the negotiation process. He also stressed that any conclusive agreement must consider and respect Iran’s legitimate national interests.
